Environmental Specialist for Fiji Energy Transformation Project

Energy Fiji Limited has issued a Request for Expressions of Interest (Reference No. FJ-EFL-573526-CS-INDV, EOI-06/2026) for a full-time local Environment Officer under the Fiji Energy Transformation Project (Project ID P515153), a USD 230 million World Bank-supported initiative. The assignment covers environmental scoping and screening for solar parks, BESS facilities, transmission corridors, the National Control Center and other grid infrastructure; critical habitat screening and biodiversity assessment; preparation of site-specific Environmental and Social Management Plans; integration of environmental requirements into technical specifications and bidding documents; environmental assessment of hydropower assets and legacy contamination; coordination with government agencies; and support during World Bank reviews. Qualified individual consultants with experience in environmental science or engineering, World Bank ESF and critical habitat assessment, and energy or infrastructure projects are invited to submit their expressions of interest. The position is expected to commence as soon as possible and cover the full project preparation period through to appraisal, with possible extension into implementation.
