On the afternoon of July 27, Chen Jinshan, Party Secretary and Director of the Lingang Special Area Administrative Committee, led a delegation to AMEC's Lingang headquarters, inspecting the Zhishi Capital CVC Innovation Hub and AMEC's RF Research Center. The visit came just three weeks before AMEC's Lingang headquarters and R&D base are slated to open in August 2026—a clear sign that the company's strategic footprint in Lingang is entering a harvest phase.
AMEC is a leading domestic producer of semiconductor etching equipment, with its technology now on par with international first-tier players. In 2021, AMEC began constructing its Lingang industrial base (Phase I), headquarters, and R&D center. The industrial base, located in the heavy equipment industrial zone, spans 157 mu (about 10.5 hectares) with 180,000 sqm of floor space, and has been operational since August 2024. The headquarters and R&D base, near Dishui Lake, cover roughly 25 mu (1.67 hectares) with 105,000 sqm—set to open imminently. This concentration positions Lingang as AMEC's core hub for R&D, manufacturing, and corporate functions.

During the visit, Chen emphasized strengthening technological innovation capabilities, supporting chain-leader enterprises like AMEC to accelerate core technology breakthroughs, and driving collaborative innovation across the upstream and downstream supply chain to boost Lingang's integrated circuit industry. This signals a clear strategy: leverage chain-leader enterprises as leverage points to catalyze the entire ecosystem.
AMEC's Lingang operations transcend a mere manufacturing base. The CVC Innovation Hub reflects its approach to nurturing startups through capital, while the RF Research Center focuses on core modules of etching equipment, promoting localization of key components.
